Estancia de investigación en el KIT (Karlsruher Institut für Technologie)
Dr. Manuel Ramos / IIT / Departamento de Física y Matemáticas
Con el propósito de continuar trabajando en beneficio de la investigación, el
Dr.
Manuel Ramos perteneciente al Instituto de Ingeniería y Tecnología en el
Departamento de Física y Matemáticas, desarrolló una estancia de investigación
en el
Karlsruher Institut für Technologie que es una de las mayores y más prestigiosas
instituciones académicas y de investigación de Alemania, reconocida mundialmente
por
el alto nivel de los trabajos de investigación que en ella se desarrollan.
Las actividades que se realizaron fueron, principalmente el utilizar el
equipamiento avanzado de caracterización por muestreo de tomografía atómica como
parte de las actividades del proyecto “Atom probe tomography: Locating Platinum
promoters in WO3 thin films”
La estancia se llevó a cabo del 9 de junio al 3 de agosto, las
actividades
se desarrollaron con sus pares académicos, el Prof. Martin Heilmaier y Dr.
Torben
Boll. También, se contó con reuniones de interpretación de datos obtenidos por
la
técnica de muestreo por tomografía atómica en muestras fabricadas en el Center
for
Integrated Nanotechnologies del Sandia National Laboratories.
Se realizó una visita académica al Instituto Helmholtz de Berlín y al
BESSY,
además de realizarse labores de escritura en manuscritos pendientes para
publicarse
y de proyectos de investigación.
Cabe destacar que la estancia fue de gran utilidad para fortalecer la
relación entre el cuerpo académico 108, el Departamento de Física y Matemáticas
del
IIT y el Departamento de Ciencia e Ingeniería de Materiales del Karlsruher
Institut
für Technologie.

With the purpose of continuing to work for the benefit of research, Dr. Manuel Ramos, from the Institute of Engineering and Technology in the Department of Physics and Mathematics, developed a research stay at the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie, which is one of the largest and most prestigious academic and research institutions in Germany, globally recognized for the high level of research work conducted there.The activities carried out mainly involved using advanced characterization equipment for atomic probe tomography sampling as part of the project "Atom Probe Tomography: Locating Platinum Promoters in WO3 Thin Films."
The stay took place out from June 9 to August 3, and the activities were developed in collaboration with his academic peers, Prof. Martin Heilmaier and Dr. Torben Boll. Additionally, meetings were held to interpret data obtained by atomic probe tomography on samples manufactured at the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies of Sandia National Laboratories. An academic visit was made to the Helmholtz Institute of Berlin and to the BESSY, as well as work on writing pending manuscripts for publication and research projects.
It is worth mentioning that the stay was highly beneficial in strengthening the relationship between Academic Body 108, the Department of Physics and Mathematics of IIT and the Department of Materials Science and Engineering of the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie.
